A bituminous surface treatment is a thin protective wearing surface that is applied to a pavement or base course and provides a wide range of benefits which include a waterproof layer to protect the underlying pavement; an antiglare surface during wet weather; and an increased reflective surface for night driving; increased skid resistance and a filler for existing cracks on surfaces.
